
'Awaken' 2 Hour Special Extended Class
2 hour special class to move the body, slow the mind and nourish the soul
Service Description
In this class you will experience the benefits of a Somatic Movement 15min warm up, to explore your own unique feelings and needs in the present moment. Followed by a heart opening Hatha Flow Yoga with optional vinyasa's to open the heart and build warmth in the body for the first 30mins. Building the yoga sequence towards a master posture, which will be explored through the use of props, walls & optional teacher assistance. Thinking about how we can break the posture down to bring curiosity and playfulness into the practice. The second half of the class will be 30mins of Yin Yoga; floor based postures held for a longer period of time to support and massage the deeper connective tissues of the body. To include witnessing the breath and mindfully acknowledging emotions with out judgement. The final 20mins of the class will be a yoga nidra (yogic sleep) practice in a supported comfortable posture to fully release and enter that dream like state between sleeping and being awake. An extended dream Savasana to soak up all the benefits of this beneficial practice. Intentional movement through to deep relaxation is so important as nature transitions towards Spring we need to allow our bodies to also slowly adjust. To gently re-emerge from the shadows of Winter and welcome the light that is increasing. This sequence will be carefully designed in order to refresh the body and welcome the new life approaching through Mind, Movement, Breath work. We will connect in circle for the final part of class to have tea & cake, journal questions & sharing
